About

Foundational Medicine Review is dedicated to exploring new scientific discoveries that support the significance of the human microbiome as a healing catalyst—and to pushing these studies forward to gain recognition and acceptance in the mainstream medical community.

We believe the body’s trillion microbes are responsible for driving physical development, nutrition, disease prevention, active immune response, and healthy brain function. However, Western medicine’s knowledge of the gut-brain axis, and its impact on overall health is still in its infancy. As a result, many patients with neurological or gastrointestinal conditions are seeking nutrition-based treatment outside of their physicians’ offices. These conditions span a wide range and include some of the most common and pressing health concerns of our era; conditions such as autism, Alzheimer’s and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) as well as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease (collectively known as irritable bowel disease or IBD).

It is the goal of this journal to raise awareness around emerging, scientifically-based, and proven foundational medicine: an alternative and complement to mainstream treatments sure to transform modern medicine.

Specifically, Foundational Medicine Review focuses on:

  • Understanding effective applications of well-known, safe nutrients and their current value in the evolving effort against disease
  • Reviewing scientific research on increasingly effective delivery methods for natural, bioactive ingredients in treatments for gastrointestinal and neurological conditions
  • Creating accessible information related to more bioavailable nutraceuticals that previously were not well tolerated or used by patients in their current form
